We support the student in choosing the courses they wish to apply for, preparing their applications (cover letters, CVs, answers to specific motivational questions, interview preparation, etc.) on the centralised Studielink platform.
For the 2026-2027 academic year, the statutory tuition fees for students who are nationals of the European Union or the EEA amount to less than €4,000 per year (for most courses). For non-EU/EEA students, these fees vary between €10,000 and €25,000 per year, depending on the chosen institution and programme.
The cost of living (accommodation, food, transport, health insurance) must be budgeted in addition to tuition fees. Accommodation is the main challenge, particularly in large student cities like Amsterdam, Utrecht or Rotterdam. It is strongly advised to start your search as soon as you receive your admission letter.
Regarding immigration procedures, EU/EEA students do not need any visa. For non-EU/EEA students, the procedure is simplified compared to other countries: the university, acting as a recognised sponsor, handles the majority of the combined residence permit application with the IND (Immigration and Naturalisation Service).
Louise was absolutely incredible. We had arrived in Europe from the United States the previous year and had no idea which universities were accessible to our child, which degree or university would suit him best, and how to apply. It is so different in Europe. She met with him frequently to discuss all the options and kept him focused on preparing all the elements of the application dossier. I really cannot imagine how we would have managed this without her. He secured a place at his first choice; it was the best investment we could have made.
