Higher education in Italy: discovering Bocconi University

Bocconi University: a university of international renown
Founded in 1902 by Ferdinando Bocconi and named after the founder's son, Luigi Bocconi, who died in combat for his country, the motto «Knowledge that matters» perfectly describes the relevance of Bocconi's courses to modern economic life.
The university is regularly ranked as Italy's best for her classes, the QS World University Rankings recently ranked Bocconi University among the 7th in the world and also 2nd in Europe for the Business and Management.

Bocconi University is specialised in undergraduate courses economically, offering the opportunity to study economics with either finance, the management, the social sciences or the computer science. All of run is exempt in English.

The university also offers the prestigious World Bachelor in Business, a four-year course in which students study not only at Bocconi University, but also at’USC (University of Southern California) in Los Angeles and at the HKUST Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
The first year takes place in United States, the second to Hong Kong, the third to Milan. The students then choose one of these three universities for their fourth year. The curriculum is rigorous and the 50 selected students will obtain three Bachelor's degrees (one in each university) at the end of the four years.

Studying in Italy: when to apply to Bocconi?
- For penultimate-year school students (Grade 11) who are sure that Bocconi is their top university choice, the Early Session with a late September deadline is an excellent opportunity to apply early and receive an offer in the autumn, thereby eliminating the stress of university applications during the final year of school.
- However, many students prefer to apply during the winter term (deadline end of January), giving them more time to prepare their application. .

The procedure for application for the World Bachelor in Business differs than that of the other programmes. Applicants must apply via the Common Application and select the WBB as their first-choice programme. The applications are open from August to December for admission the following year, and each application will be reviewed by the admissions officers of the three universities. The selection process includes personal essays as well as an online video interview.
