Study in Italy : when to apply to Bocconi University?
There are three admission periods for application.
- For students in their penultimate year of school who are sure that Bocconi is their top choice university the Early Session from 20 July – 22 September is an excellent opportunity to apply early and receive an offer in September, so taking away the stress of university applications in the student’s final school year.
- Many students however apply in the Winter Application Session (17 November – 26 January)
- There also exists a late Spring Session from 9 March – 4 April for the late-comers. We advise against applying in the Spring Session as there are limited places left by then for most courses.
How to apply to Bocconi University?
Competition for places on the courses of this prestigious university is fierce and students must have excellent school grades to be considered.
Applications are judged on the following criteria :
- school grades for the last 2 years
- SAT/ACT scores or the Bocconi’s own online admission test score
- the student’s Curriculum Vitae and motivational letter
- and of course the student must have an excellent level of English
The application process for the World Bachelor in Business differs from the process for the other courses. Candidates for this course must apply through the Common Application and select the WBB as their first-choice program. Applications are open from August to December for admission the following year, and each application will be considered by the admissions officers of all three universities. The selection process includes personal essays and an online video interview.
The cost of the Bachelor’s degree
The bachelor’s tuition fees are fixed at €13,130/year for the year 2022-2023 to which one must add accommodation and living fees. This compares favourably with the tuition fees of the UK, where a Bachelor in Business Management for example at the reputable King’s College London would cost £28,000/year.
However, the World Bachelor of Business has a completely different tuition fee level. Each university applies its own tuition fee. For the year 2022-2023, the tuition fees for each university are :
- Year 1 USC $ 59,250 (approx €53,500)
- Year 2 HKUST HKD 210,000 (approx €25,000)
- Year 3 Bocconi €18,000
- Year 4 the tuition fees of the university chosen for year four will apply.
Although academic merit scholarships are available for this course, it is important to remember that all the admitted students will be very strong candidates.
