Summer schools : attend a programme at a prestigious foreign university

Summer is coming and parents often ask us how their children can best prepare for their Higher Education applications the following year. We suggest, depending on the student’s choice of study, that they do a short internship in the area of their future studies, do some extra reading or attend a Summer School.

Why do a Summer School ?

  1. There are two main reasons for sending your child to a summer school. It allows the student to have a first experience of university level studies in their field. This may reinforce the student’s choice of study, or on the contrary, it may allow the student to realise in time that they are not passionate about the subject.
  2. It is a first taste of higher education in a university environment. It will motivate the student to redouble their efforts to obtain the baccalaureate in order to join a reputable university.

Here is a short selection of popular summer schools.
